In view of the ongoing development of our firm and our services, we are currently accepting applications for the following position:

Lawyer linguist – Legal translator

Your role

Translate and manage existing translations of a wide range of legal documents, contracts, laws, memoranda, proxy circulars, academic legal articles, legal news communications and other texts (primarily French to English, with other language combinations as determined by need and capability)
Perform linguistic review of documents already in English, ensuring their terminological accuracy and appropriateness for the target audience
Translate and review internal, external and client-facing communications and marketing material
Provide ad hoc linguistic support and advice for English
Certify translations in the language pair French/English
Provide support and advice to meet other linguistic needs that may arise (e.g. assistance locating or evaluating external translators/agencies)

Your profile

You have perfect mastery of English (native) and are fluent in French (written and spoken); other languages are an asset
You have a university degree in one of the following fields (combined with translation and/or legal knowledge/experience as appropriate): translation; French; law; finance
You are a sworn translator for French into English, certified by a Ministry of Justice, and/or are willing to become certified in Luxembourg
Significant experience (5+ years) as a certified translator, ideally in a legal environment, is an asset
Knowledge of CAT tools (e.g. Trados Studio) and machine translation technology (e.g. DeepL) is an asset
You are able to interact with people at all levels of the firm in order to create and maintain collaborative relationships
You are organised and able to prioritise your tasks autonomously
You are able to communicate effectively and keep relevant lawyers and staff informed in a timely manner
You are an EU national, if not we will offer sponsorship for a work permit
