Amin Bouazza, promoted within the Litigation and Regulatory practice, focuses on complex cross-border commercial disputes, with a strong emphasis on investment fund and corporate governance litigation. He advises domestic and international clients, including financial institutions, private equity sponsors and multinational groups, in high-stakes proceedings before the Luxembourg courts. His experience also covers directors’ liability, debt recovery and shareholder conflicts, and he is regularly involved in disputes arising from investment structures and corporate transactions.
Kateryna Lahodivets, part of the Finance team, advises banks, public and private corporates, financial institutions, alternative credit providers and asset managers on a broad range of cross-border and domestic financing transactions. Her practice includes real estate finance, structured finance, project finance and capital markets transactions. She regularly assists clients on complex financing arrangements involving multi-jurisdictional elements, sophisticated financing structures and coordination across multiple stakeholders and countries.
Melvin Tjon Akon, Senior Knowledge Lawyer, focuses on EU financial services regulation. He plays a key role in supporting the Luxembourg team by developing and delivering know-how, regulatory monitoring and analysis, training and tools that enable practitioners to provide high-quality, consistent advice to clients, while strengthening the firm’s collective capabilities.
Julie Pierret is taking on enhanced responsibilities in her role as Knowledge Officer, reflecting the continued development of the firm’s knowledge function in Luxembourg. She contributes to the structuring, maintenance and accessibility of legal know-how, ensuring that knowledge is effectively shared and leveraged within the Luxembourg office to serve clients better.
In an environment where artificial intelligence is reshaping the delivery of legal services, the knowledge function should no longer be a hide away from business. The strength, reliability and accessibility of knowledge are more critical than ever. With the use of AI we continue to optimize workflows based on past practices, and focus on impact, clients, revenue, and decisions.
Xavier Guzman, Country Managing Partner, commented: “Amin, Kateryna, Melvin and Julie have each made meaningful contributions to our Luxembourg office over the years. Amin’s promotion strengthens our Litigation and Regulatory practice, reflecting our investment in this area. Their promotions and evolving responsibilities recognize their individual achievements, and the continued development of our Luxembourg office, where the Knowledge function ensures quality, speed, and business impact. We are delighted to see them take this next step.”
