About your team :

The Investment Solutions and Services (ISS) Business focuses on our investment offerings to professional clients and financial institutions. The ISS Legal Team supports the business on legal and regulatory matters.

About your role :

A lawyer tasked with supporting the French distribution and institutional business, and other European regions (including UK). The lawyer will be required to work collaboratively with colleagues and other teams, including the business.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide legal support in connection with the French business, French funds distribution, legal products management (UCITS Funds, AIF/French FCPE) and CoSec for the Paris office;
  • Advise other European businesses (including UK), as well as in connection with strategic projects;
  • Analyse regulation and provide concise, commercial advice;
  • Independently draft and negotiate various legal agreements (such as distribution, investment management and advisory agreements);
  • Update internal templates and guidance.

Fidelity’s lawyers are expected to be business-facing and customer–focused, while protecting the company against potential financial, regulatory and reputational risks. They are required to handle a varying work schedule, work well within a team and independently, and be flexible when it comes to working to tight deadlines.

About you :

  • English, French or other EEA-law qualified lawyer.
  • Experience working in-house or in a reputable law firm.
  • Ability to complete legal tasks in both English and French languages.
  • Technical knowledge of mutual fund products (ideally in French products).
  • Independent worker and team player.
  • Experience in providing regulatory advice (including MiFID II, AIFMD and UCITS regulations).
  • Ideally knowledge of French law with a focus in contract law, fund distribution and UCITS/AIF regulation, employee savings funds is desirable.
