The Compliance Department in Luxembourg is actively seeking additional support to implement and conduct periodic controls effectively. We aim to launch projects that enhance compliance risk mitigation and develop strategies to improve adherence to regulatory requirements. Our current setup presents an opportunity to establish a proactive approach and increase efficiency in our processes. Some areas within the department require enhanced oversight to ensure meeting the expectations of the regulatory framework.

We must ensure that the company remains fully compliant with the Luxembourg Regulatory Framework in all its aspects.

What your work will look like:

  • Collaborate with the MLRO and Chief Compliance Officer on regulatory and compliance matters, offering insights for improvement.
  • Partner with Operations and Sales teams to ensure proper implementation of regulatory requirements.
  • Report directly to the MLRO, preparing comprehensive documentation for customer reviews and ensuring accuracy for MLRO approval.
  • Review transaction monitoring alerts from the Risk Department to identify compliance issues and act on suspicious activities.
  • Review name screening alerts from the Operations Department.
  • Build and enhance second line of defense controls as part of a QA program, including comprehensive risk assessments of clients to identify money laundering and terrorist financing risks.
  • Analyze transaction patterns to detect suspicious activities and report to the MLRO.
  • Support the MLRO in annual AML/CFT testing exercises and manage escalations from the first line of defense and sales teams.
  • Prepare and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for review and approval, and assist in developing regulatory reports.
  • Help develop and implement AML/CFT policies and procedures in line with regulatory changes.
  • Provide training and support to staff on AML/CFT compliance to enhance the compliance culture within the organization.


What you need to be successful in this role:

  • 5 years of experience as a Compliance Officer or a similar position
  • A solid understanding of the regulatory environment of Luxembourg, particularly related to Payment Service Providers (PSPs) and relevant compliance frameworks. 
  • Effective communication skills, with a genuine interest in engaging with various stakeholders. 
  • Good knowledge of global financial regulations, along with a proactive attitude to learn and expand this knowledge. 
  • Strong analytical skills, with a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and compliance tasks. 
  • Collaborative mindset, with the enthusiasm to work alongside different departments and contribute to a team-oriented environment. 


Nice to have:

  • Prior experience in a fintech or financial services setting, providing practical insights into the industry. 
  • Additional certifications in compliance or related fields that demonstrate a commitment to professional growth. 
  • Multilingual capabilities, especially in languages relevant to key financial markets.
