The Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) acts exclusively in the public interest and all of our employees contribute to maintaining the safeness and soundness of the financial industry, one of the main drivers of the Luxembourg economy.

Beyond the national scope, the CSSF is also characterized by a strong European and international exposure. Our employees participate in international working groups and collaborate with other European authorities with the aim of promoting a stable financial industry on a European and international level.


Role & responsibilities

  • Strengthening the departement in relation to the handling of cases involving out-of-court dispute resolution between financial sector professionals and their clients, as well as cases relating to compliant professional practice
  • Analysing issues and drafting legal opinions on civil and commercial law, banking and finance law, and financial consumer protection
  • Participating in the drafting of regulatory texts
  • Participate, as needed, in international groups on consumer and investor protection

Your profile

  • University degree in law (four or five years of higher education). An additional degree in financial law is an advantage
  • Several years of proven professional experience working for a financial sector professional or at a recognised law firm in the market is an advantage
  • Very good knowledge of the regulatory framework (financial sector law, European directives, CSSF regulations and circulars, financial investor/consumer protection, MiFID, PSD)
  • Fluency in written and spoken French, English and German; knowledge of Luxembourgish is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent writing, analytical, summarising and communication skills
  • Very good organisational and follow-up skills and rigorous approach to work
  • Availability for occasional travel abroad
