We are looking for a talented lawyer who would thrive on developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions, and helping shape the face of our Amazon’s EU Stores’ shopping and search experience. Amazon offers a rich array of shopping and search experiences with the goal of helping our customers find and discover anything they want to buy. Lawyers are trusted members of the business, and you will work directly with the product and privacy teams to help launch and improve how our shopping experience and search functionalities work. You will advise on a broad range of consumer protection, digital legislation, privacy, and marketing matters. You will work directly with sales and business development teams to structure, draft, and negotiate commercial transactions with our enterprise customers. You will also handle pre-litigation legal disputes and regulatory inquiries.

Basic qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Europe, US or other common law jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 5+ years of legal experience, with experience at a leading law firm or in house.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English language skills.
  • Sound and practical judgment, even in ambiguous situations, and comfortable making high-quality decisions quickly and with limited information.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute successfully to cross-functional, global team.

Preferred qualifications

  • Product, privacy and regulatory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines.
  • Transactional experience (drafting and negotiation), gained at a law firm or in-house at a multinational corporation.
