Your role

Within its Legal office at the Central administration, the University of Luxembourg is looking for a Legal advisor. The successful candidate will be liaising with and assisting the University faculties and interdisciplinary centers, as well as other University services in relation with their legal needs. 

Key responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support for all types of legal documents and contracts, in particular for research-related contracts.
  • Ensure the development of legal documentation and preparation of contracts, in accordance with legal regulations.
  • Support informed decision-making, enhance organizational value, ensure legal compliance, and protect the University’s legal interests and reputation.
  • Draft, negotiate and review a broad range of legal documents and agreements, such as research collaborations, licensing agreements, material transfer, academic, NDAs, service agreements, etc.
  • Analyze and verify potential risks, proposing solutions.
  • Liaise with other University services to provide all-rounded advice on projects, in particular working in close contact with the colleagues in charge of technology transfer, data protection, procurement, taxation, human resources, academic affairs, students affairs, finance, etc.
  • Advise on different fields of expertise: intellectual property, state aid, public research funding, provision of services, academic affairs, creation of start-ups, public procurement, etc.
  • Contribute to the development of the University’s policies, procedures and overarching projects.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in law or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position
  • Fluency in English and French is required. Knowledge of German would be as a strong advantage
  • Solid experience in contracts law
  • Specialization in Intellectual Property Law is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with attention to details and accuracy
  • Team player, able to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment, capable of coping with pressure
