As a member of the Palana Team, you will be part of a new, dynamic and fast-growing company which focuses on delivering high quality advice and services to Asset & Wealth Managers and Asset Servicers. We cover the various asset classes across vanilla, private equity, real estate and infrastructure products.

The constantly evolving regulatory framework and the harmonisation of the financial markets in Europe provides ongoing challenges for industry actors and are a hotspot for quick learning and personal development while assisting the leaders on the market on their most complex regulatory questions and problems within a team of very experienced professionals.  

You will advise market leaders in their field by designing compliance frameworks, oversight control mechanisms, and regulatory reporting solutions. Additionally, we offer health checks and impact assessments for upcoming regulations, assisting clients in creating or reviewing policies and procedures, enhancing, implementing and exercising their Control Monitoring Plan (CMP), and addressing complex compliance-related queries.

This position is both creative and rigorous by nature as you will be involved within a start-up advisory business where everything is possible, whilst servicing the most reputed clients on technical and complex regulatory matters. You need to think outside the box, to be proactive and have a "get it done" spirit. To be successful, you will have solid problem-solving skills and a large learning appetite.

Responsibilities

  • Provide health check, perform mock inspection and impact assessments for existing and upcoming regulatory changes
  • Assist clients in drafting, reviewing, and updating their policies and procedures
  • Support the enhancement and implementation of Control Monitoring Plans (CMPs)
  • Execute controls documented in the CMP
  • Support the development of oversight frameworks
  • Assist in performing Due Diligences on our client delegates 
  • Monitor regulatory developments and conduct regulatory watch activities
  • Provide guidance on complex compliance-related queries
  • Assist in the preparation of training programmes
  • Overseeing ongoing client activities and acting as the primary point of contact for client services and delivery management on a continuous basis
  • Building strong relationships with clients

Must Have

  • Bachelor/Master Degree or Higher in Law, Economics or Business
  • Between 2 to 7 years of experience in the financial services industry or as a consultant in the sector
  • Good knowledge of the Luxembourg regulatory framework (e.g. UCITS, AIFMD, CSSF Circulars, etc.)
  • Perfect written English and communication as well as presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Highly creative and autonomous, appetite to learn, great team player
  • Proactive, "can-do" attitude and thrive on taking ownership to see tasks through to completion
  • Organisational capacity managing tasks and deadlines in a structured and efficient way
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, a keen eye for detail, and the capability to break down and communicate complex tasks in a straightforward, practical way
  • Valid work permit for Luxembourg
  • German and/or French language skills
