Responsibilities

  • You will be the legal expert responsible for the bank’s alignment with ESG regulatory requirements (SFDR, Taxonomy, etc.). You will also be actively involved in the fine tuning and development of BIL’s overall ESG strategy.
  • You will provide best in class, pragmatic, and proactive legal advice and regulatory support to the Sustainability team, as well as to the specific departments and entities of BIL Group that are exposed to ESG legal requirements.
  • As a member of the BIL Luxembourg’s legal team, you will also provide legal advice on a variety of topics impacting BIL Group.

Tasks:

  • Ensure the good implementation of ESG-related regulations and projects throughout BIL Group
  • Provide legal advice and regulatory support across the board and in particular to the Sustainability team
  • Actively contribute to the constant improvement of BIL’s ESG Strategy
  • Draft, review, negotiate any types of ESG-related agreements and documentation
  • Be a key contributor to BIL Group projects
  • Actively participate in the legal and regulatory developments within BIL Group, including the launch of new products and services in coordination with other departments (compliance, risks, product development, IT, etc.)
  • Participate in external working groups (ABBL, etc.)
  • Manage outside counsels
  • Provide legal and regulatory support to the Legal Team Leader and Head of Legal and team members on various matters

Must-have requirements:

  • University degree in law from an EU member state, a post graduate degree being considered as an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a large financial institution or a law firm in Luxembourg
  • Proven track record and experience in sustainable finance, including implementation of SFDR
  • Strong knowledge of Luxembourg’s banking, legal and regulatory environment

Skills:

  • Excellent organization and coordination skills, combining attention to detail and an efficient overview of key questions and priorities
  • Fluency in English and French is mandatory
  • Team player
  • Flexible, polyvalent and able to work on various legal subjects in a transparent manner
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated
  • Master Microsoft Office
