The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Legal Directorate (JU) - Operational Policy, Mandates and Non-EU Operations Department (OPS-POL) - Outside Europe A Division (OEU-A), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st September/October 2025)

A traineeship in the Operational Policy, Mandates and Non-EU Operations Department, Outside Europe A Division (JU/OPS-POL/OEU-A) gives aspiring lawyers the opportunity to engage in the application of legal principles to real-life issues in the context of the ElB’s lending activities in certain countries outside the EU, notably in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Caribbean and Pacific Islands. It offers a broad and international experience in a multilateral financial institution, beneficial to those looking to develop their career in the field of banking and finance law as well as development finance.
You will gain first hand experience of the life cycle of EIB lending operations. The tasks to be carried out include research, diligence, drafting of legal documentation and assisting in the negotiation of the legal documentation in all stages of the project cycle (structuration, signature, disbursement and monitoring).
