MHTBL belongs to the Mizuho Financial Group (MHFG), formed on April 1, 2002, when the former Fuji Bank, Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank, and Industrial Bank of Japan were reorganized into two banks: Mizuho Bank, Ltd., and Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd. At the same time, two more companies—Mizuho Trust & Banking Co. Ltd. and Mizuho Securities Co. Ltd. were formed. On April 26, 2005, MHFG announced its “Channel to Discovery” plan. Under the plan, the Group has realigned its business structure into three global segments- Global Corporate Group, Global Retail Group, and Global Asset & Wealth Management Group-based on the needs of customers.

Within the framework of our Luxembourg based activities, we are recruiting a:

Legal Counsel (m/f)

Permanent Contract

to strengthen the the Legal Department

Your responsibilities

Advise internal departments on the Bank’s core activities (Custody, Fund Administration and Securities Agency);
Prepare and/or negotiate all types of commercial contracts;
Draft, maintain and update internal templates and procedures;
Conduct legal research and prepare internal memos;
Ensure the coordination with internal stakeholders and external providers.

Your profile

Education and experiences

Master’s degree in Law
A demonstrable experience of minimum 5 years of in a similar position within a financial institution or law firm in Luxembourg

Knowledge

Excellent knowledge of Luxembourg and EU Financial and Banking laws and regulations.
Prior experience in the investment fund sector is an advantage.

Languages

Fluent in English and French.

IT skills

Sound knowledge of Word,
Powerpoint,
Excel

Personal skills

Positive and pro-active attitude with excellent communication skills
Ability to deal with a wide range of legal matters
Capacity to identify complexity/risk and act accordingly
