Your role

Are you interested in launching investment funds for one of the world’s largest asset managers? Do you have expertise in advising the management companies of funds/mandates on a wide range of regulatory issues and practical experience negotiating investment management agreements and drafting fund documents?


We're looking for someone like that to join our team and:

  • draft and negotiate investment management agreements on behalf of Luxembourg management companies (with third party portfolio managers) and with German institutional clients
  • give clear and concise legal advice to our business on fund related questions with a focus on Germany (Real Estate Funds/UCITS)
  • draft a variety of legal documents and contracts in English and German (e.g. management company agreements, prospectuses, notices, board resolutions etc)
  • file submissions to regulators and act as point of contact responding to regulator requests
  • collaborate with senior colleagues within Legal and our businesses / negotiate with third parties
  • research, and advise on all manner of legal and regulatory questions
  • analyze the impact that new regulations may have on funds and clients
  • stay up to date with fund regulatory developments in Germany, Luxembourg and across Europe
  • give clear and concise legal counsel to our business functions
  • think strategically, making decisions that have real impact for our business, customers and employees
  • carry out and co-ordinate administrative tasks


Your team

You'll be working in the AM Legal EMEA team assisting UBS with the legal and regulatory obligations related to the funds and mandates they manage, in particular German funds and mandates and Luxembourg investment management agreements with third party portfolio managers. We’re responsible for advising colleagues in UBS Asset Management which is a leading fund house in Europe, the largest mutual fund manager in Switzerland and one of the largest fund of hedge funds and real estate investment managers in the world. We also advise colleagues in the product development and management team of Global Wealth Management.


Your expertise

You have:

  • a university degree in Law
  • in-depth knowledge of Luxembourg / German / European fund regulation
  • at least 5-6 years' experience in the finance sector
  • proven skills in drafting and negotiating legal documents in both English and German
