Ogier provides practical advice on a unique combination of six laws: BVI, Cayman, Guernsey, Irish, Jersey and Luxembourg. Our global network covers Asian, European and US time zones.
In a rapidly evolving marketplace legal advice needs a flexible approach. Smooth, efficient, quiet service for the daily running of businesses, with serious power and finesse at times when activities deviate from the norm. Our business model is structured to meet individual needs. We are lawyers to the world’s leading financial institutions, professional advisers, regulatory bodies and high net worth individuals.
You will work very closely with other departments and offices within Ogier's network and will be involved, amongst others, in tax structuring of investment funds and assets, cross-border corporate transactions, private wealth matters and tax litigation.
You will be expected to provide technically sound and practical business-oriented tax advice to diversified clients with appropriate supervision from senior fee earners and take ownership of certain transactions from start to finish.
At associate level you will also regularly provide input to partners and develop negotiating skills in preparation of new matter fee estimates and quotes. Staying up to date with new tax legislation and topics of interest in the relevant markets and how these changes affect clients and matters is also key.
Other tasks include assisting with the orientation of new joiners and interns and developing strong relationships within Ogier's global network.
We want individuals who are open to change as you will also have the opportunity to trial new ways of (flexible) working and supervise on the implementation of continuous improvement for the benefit of the team and firm overall.
We’re particularly interested in a qualified lawyer with 1 to 3 years' experience post admission to the Bar in Luxembourg or another EU jurisdiction.
We're looking for a driven candidate who is reliable, has strong technical and communication skills, is eager to learn and motivated to develop and progress within a dynamic, friendly, collaborative and forward-thinking environment. If you're a real team-player with a strong academic background in tax and you have a desire to progress quickly, then this opportunity could be for you.
Strong academics and appetite for figures are important. Fluency in English and French (both written and verbal) is a requirement for this role.
