International Association of Chinese Story Telling and Story Singing Art (IASA) created in Luxembourg

The International Association of Chinese Story Telling and Story Singing Art was set up in Luxembourg today. This non-profit organization will promote traditional Chinese storytelling and singing (Shuo Chang Yi Shu) and will bring together artists who practice this ancient art form around the globe.

Jiang Kun, one of China’s most popular comedians, actively promoted the establishment of the association and was the guest of honor at the inaugural meeting. The launch event was also supported by the Chinese Embassy in Luxembourg to promote cultural exchange between Luxembourg and China.

Global law firm Dentons is supporting the IASA with pro bono legal assistance. Dr. Shaohui Zhang, Head of Dentons’ Luxembourg China Desk, advised on the incorporation of the association and will serve as its legal counsel on an ongoing basis.

Dr. Shaohui Zhang said, “I am excited to contribute to this inspiring initiative which will promote Chinese heritage and serve as the foundation to strengthen the cultural and economic links between China and Luxembourg.”

Atanas Politov, Dentons Europe Pro Bono Director, commented, “Dentons is fully committed to providing pro bono legal advice to make a positive contribution to our communities.  As the world’s only polycentric law firm, we are particularly proud to support this association which promotes cross-cultural understanding and awareness.

In 2016, Dentons provided more than 85,000 hours of pro bono legal advice worth more than US$35 million around the world.
