University of Luxembourg Kirchberg Campus

11 Mar

Investing in art has become increasingly interesting over the years. What with financial crises and classic investment products in decline, art investment presents itself as an alternative asset not to be underestimated. And with its Freeport, Luxembourg has clearly positioned itself on this growing market.

Another clear step in that direction is this new for-credit continuing education programme organized by the University of Luxembourg via its Competence Centre

The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance - in association with the renowned Christie's Education London - has developed a high standard academic training programme targeting professionals active in the art world (or contemplating a career in the art world), desirous to sharpen their knowledge of the financial, legal, accounting, tax and logistics aspects of art related transactions.

Target Audience

Whether you are a legal professional, a private banker, a financial expert, a wealth manager, a family office professional, an auditor, a lawyer, or a museum director, a curator, gallery director, an art merchant, an auctioner, logostic provider or even a graduate of art, this executive education programme offers valuable insights and technical knowledge with academic rigour.

Learning Outcomes

As a participant you will have the unique opportunity of meeting highly renowned international specialists in the different related fields. At the end of the training, you will have :

  • learned the economics of investing, holding and trading in art
  • identified key elements of risk management related to art investing
  • investigated the correlation of art with more conventional asset classes in the context of wealth management
  • acquired key knowledge of legal, accounting and tax issues related to investing, holding and trading in art
