Ogier announces corporate and M&A specialist Bertrand Geradin as new Luxembourg partner

Ogier has appointed a new partner in its Luxembourg office to head its corporate practice as one of three recruitments aimed to further strengthen its onshore international offering.

Bertrand Geradin, whose appointment takes the firm’s 25-strong Luxembourg team to five partners, has more than 15 years’ experience with law firms in Luxembourg, Brussels, London and Philadelphia.

He specialises in corporate law advising private equity and real estate clients, asset managers as well as multinational companies.

Ogier is the only law firm with a presence in Luxembourg, Cayman, BVI, Jersey and Guernsey – the Luxembourg office was established in 2012 by founding partners Francois Pfister and Daniel Richards, and has since seen significant growth, with more expected with the development of the new Reserved Alternative Investment Fund (RAIF) structure and the modernisation of Luxembourg's company law.

Francois Pfister, practice partner in Ogier’s Luxembourg office, said that Bertrand’s appointment was a sign of strength and confidence.

He said: “We continue to see positive trends, and these recruitments demonstrate our confidence.

“I am particularly pleased to welcome Bertrand to the partnership – he is a very experienced and capable lawyer with a strong reputation.

“With the addition of these three lawyers and the recent promotions the team here is the strongest it has ever been.

The other two appointments are Julia Journée, who joins as a senior associate in the Banking and Finance team, and Bernard Elslander, who joins as an associate in the Corporate and Commercial team.
