Book published on transnational teaching of the law

A new publication to emerge out of an international colloquium hosted by the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance, “La transnationalisation de l’enseignement du droit”, outlines the future of the teaching of the law in a globalised world.

The Faculty in 2014 hosted the one-day event, organised by Prof. Pascal Ancel and Prof. Luc Heuschling, exploring the importance of a transnational approach to legal education in an increasingly globalised environment. Speakers included representatives not only of the University of Luxembourg, but also academics from universities in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Canada and Japan.

The colloquium was hosted to coincide with a reform of the University of Luxembourg’s Bachelor in Law programme, which saw the University commit itself to a transnational approach in its legal education programmes, right from the first year of studies.

The new publication with Larcier collects contributions from the various speakers at the Colloquium, highlighting different approaches in teaching, contrasting the experiences of scholars from a variety of backgrounds and offering perspectives for the future of legal education.
