Nicolas Bonora joins Ogier's Banking and Finance team

Seasoned finance lawyer Nicolas Bonora has joined Ogier as counsel in the firm's Banking and Finance team in Luxembourg.

Described as "excellent" by Legal 500 EMEA, 2021, Nicolas specialises in leveraged finance, real estate finance, fund finance, cross-border acquisition finance, restructurings and high yield debt offerings.

He has more than ten years of experience working on Luxembourg financing matters and also worked for a year in the New York office of a large European firm. Before joining Ogier, Nicolas was counsel in the banking and finance department of a large European firm in Luxembourg.

With an in-depth knowledge of Luxembourg law and financing structures, he has broad experience as Luxembourg local counsel on both the borrower side and lending side of syndicated credit facilities with Luxembourg borrowers and/or Luxembourg guarantors, and also as Luxembourg adviser on high yield debt issuance. His experience also includes fund financings and real estate financings. He is a graduate of the Strasbourg University in France where he holds a postgraduate degree in banking and finance law.

"I've worked with Nicolas for ten years and I'm extremely pleased to have him join Ogier, given his extensive expertise and very high work ethic. I'm sure he'll bring a lot to our team, further strengthening our banking and finance services in Luxembourg," said partner Jad Nader.

This year Ogier celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Luxembourg office and was the first offshore firm to set up a presence in the jurisdiction. Over those ten years, Ogier has grown its Luxembourg team from two to seven partners, with a headcount now of more than 50 people.
