Your responsibilities

As the Data Protection Associate you will:

  • Support the Group Data Protection Officer (Group DPO) and Data Protection Team in their duties across over 40 jurisdictions worldwide including those in North America, EMEA and APAC.
  • Support the overall development and delivery of the Alter Domus Data Protection Strategy.
  • Provide timely and accurate guidance to staff on data protection under the supervision and guidance of the Group DPO.
  • Escalate risks to the Group DPO where necessary, proposing solutions, and supporting delivery.
  • Support the fulfilment of all Data Subject Rights requests ensuring they are completed as per prevailing regulations and internal policy.
  • Support the management of incident and breaches, under the guidance of the Group DPO, and co-ordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures and guidance that support Alter Domus’ Global data protection agenda.
  • Support any audit of standards and procedures that assesses progress against the DP strategy, providing assurance on the level of compliance against statutory obligations.
  • Support the development and delivery of training to staff on data protection and related topics.
  • Support creation and maintenance of records of processing activities, personal data inventories and data mapping across the global functions
  • Respond to ad hoc data protection queries under the supervision of the Group DPO.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with key internal stakeholders and functions, globally.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience. 
  • Entry-level knowledge and understanding of GDPR.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively juggle multiple high priority activities and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Pragmatism and the ability to find solutions and assess risk. 
  • Proven ability to manage large volumes of information and multiple tasks. 
  • Ethical, pro-active, motivated, responsible, able to remain impartiality.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in carrying out activities.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups.
  • Desirable -  Experience or education in data protection and privacy programs .
  • Desirable – Other relevant qualifications such as CIPP/E CIPM, CIPP/US, CIPT.
