We are currently looking for an outstanding IP/IT/Commercial Associate to join our Innovation team. We are looking for a forward-thinking legal lawyer with 3 – 6 years of relevant experience - primarily in intellectual property (IP) law, and additionally in commercial and IT law - who is eager to explore how innovation, venture capital, and emerging technologies are reshaping the entrepreneurial landscape.
As an Associate in our Innovation team, you will:
- Lead and manage the drafting and negotiation of a wide range of intellectual property, ICT, data, and commercial transactions, including licensing, (co)-development, e-commerce, service, distribution, and partnership agreements across diverse industries.
- Assist in managing our trademark practice: drafting trade mark search reports, providing trademark advice, assist in the management of trademark procedures and litigation.
- Drive the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of IP monetization deals, leveraging your in-depth experience in IP law.
- Contribute to the development of ecosystems geared towards co-creating and co-developing new technologies.
- Assist in due diligence processes delving in the legal framework of innovative (ICT) companies.
- Engage in structuring, drafting, and negotiating various partnership models.
- Independently manage projects and client relationships in a fast-paced, innovative environment
This function presents a thrilling opportunity for motivated individuals with a deep interest in emerging and technology-driven enterprises and who want to play a pivotal role in expanding Cresco's Innovation practice group.
- Master's degree in law from a Belgian university with strong academic credentials and preferably holding a master degree in IP/ICT law.
- 3-6 years experience, preferably within a law firm, with a primary focus on intellectual property law and additional expertise in commercial and IT law.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong interest in a career focused on commercial, IT, IP (including trademark matters), and data transactions.
- Subject matter expertise in data/privacy, ICT, and cybersecurity legislation is advantageous.
- Ability to independently manage projects and client relationships in a fast-paced environment.
