Change of governance at Allen & Overy in Luxembourg

Allen & Overy has appointed Patrick Mischo as Office Senior Partner to its Luxembourg office.  The announcement comes as part of changes to the Luxembourg office governance model, opting for single-person management, in line with much of the wider A&O network. Frank Mausen, who co-headed the office with Patrick Mischo, is stepping down as Managing Partner and will take on the strategic role of Market Intelligence and Know-How Partner.

In 2018, Patrick Mischo and Frank Mausen succeeded Marc Feider and Henri Wagner, projecting the firm, which will celebrate 30 years in the Grand Duchy this year, into a new era. Together, they have been able to continue the success of their predecessors and oversaw the office move to the emblematic Infinity Tower at the end of last year.

Frank Mausen, 44, specialises in capital markets law. He joined Allen & Overy in 2003 and was promoted to partner in 2011. He will continue to co-head the Capital Markets and Banking Law department and will assume the strategic role of Market Intelligence and Know-How Partner. He will also continue to represent Allen & Overy on the Haut Comité de la Place Financière. He comments: "I have been honoured to have worked alongside Patrick in such a challenging role as managing a law firm like Allen & Overy in Luxembourg. The relationship of trust built up during the ten years of our collaboration has enabled us to cooperate efficiently, making the most of our respective personalities. I am satisfied with what we have achieved and am now looking forward to new challenges."

Patrick Mischo, 46, a tax law specialist, joined Allen & Overy in 2000 and was promoted to partner in 2009. He comments on this turning point: "It is with great emotion that I thank Frank for all the work he has done and his extraordinary commitment. We were both driven by the same goal of excellence, moving forward with sincerity and mutual trust; it is certain that his imprint will remain in the history of our firm. I am delighted that Frank has agreed to take on the role of Market Intelligence and Know-How Partner, which is a strategic and decisive position for the future of our firm. Finally, I look forward to continuing to serve this exceptional firm which is Allen & Overy in Luxembourg in my role as Office Senior Partner."

Patrick Mischo has been appointed Office Senior Partner for a four-year term.
