Linklaters LLP Luxembourg is delighted to announce the promotions of seven lawyers: three consultants and four managing associates, as of 1 May 2020. These promotions follow the recent election of Martin Mager, investment funds lawyer, to the global partnership.

Three new Consultants
Our newly promoted consultants all joined Linklaters LLP Luxembourg in 2009 and have each, since then each gained particular expertise.
Capital Markets and Banking
Bart Vermaat advises banks, sponsors, corporates, alternative credit providers and insurance companies and specialises in leveraged finance, asset finance (aviation and shipping), real estate, securitisation and fiduciary structures as well as all types of debt securities issues and prospectus, transparency and market abuse related matters, including in each case, where necessary, the consensual or non-consensual restructuring of the relevant transaction.
Investment Funds
Claire Prospert has developed an extensive experience in advising major international asset managers in the structuring of complex regulated and unregulated investment funds, especially in the alternative funds sphere. Claire is an active member of several working groups of the Luxembourg fund industry association (“ALFI”).
Tax
Danièle Buchler regularly advises corporate clients on the Luxembourg tax aspects of cross- border reorganisations and assists asset managers in the set-up and tax structuring of joint venture companies and fund vehicles. She also advises on the various tax angles of local real estate transactions.
Four new Managing Associates
Corporate M&A
Aurélie Mounier joined Linklaters LLP Luxembourg’s Corporate M&A practice in 2017 having previously gained professional experience working as an in-house counsel for an international corporate bank in the Middle East and in Italy. Her expertise covers general company law, domestic and cross border mergers and acquisitions, upstream and downstream private equity with a focus on real estate structures, joint ventures and group restructurings.
Simone Schmitt joined Linklaters in 2015, where she first spent several months in our investment funds department before joining the Corporate M&A practice. Her activity encompasses general company law, mergers and acquisitions, upstream and downstream private equity, joint ventures and group restructurings.
Claudia Wagner joined Linklaters Luxembourg in 2018, after gaining five years of experience in the Corporate M&A and Private Equity department of an international and a French law firm in Paris. She has been promoted to managing associate in the corporate mainstream group where she advises investment funds and other private corporate actors in relation to company law, private equity structuring (upstream and downstream), mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and group restructurings.
Tax
Hadrien Brémon joined the firm in 2016. He focuses on advising major private equity funds, real estate funds and financial institutions on tax aspects of investment structuring, mainly dealing with mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures and international tax planning.
