In the current context, where working from home is the norm for most people and social contacts are becoming increasingly rare, it is useful to look at new ways to continue communicating. With this in mind, the law firm Allen & Overy Luxembourg has decided to launch its legal podcast channel, one of the first of its kind in the Grand-Duchy.
Behind this initiative is a desire on the part of the firm to expand its range of services by offering its clients and any other interested listeners instant access to expert opinions on various legal topics. As Frank Mausen, Managing Partner of A&O Luxembourg, comments: "The podcast is an additional source of information for our clients, offering the unrivalled advantage of being consulted anywhere and at the most convenient time for the listener. It is also an opportunity to hear a lawyer you know or finally put a voice to a name!"
Experts from the firm will regularly give their opinions on a wide range of topics, both current and evergreen, including labour law, alternative investment funds, taxation, M&A, artificial intelligence and many others. "One of the objectives of this approach is to demystify subjects that can sometimes be dealt with in a very technical manner during conferences or e-mailings, here we get straight to the point.” underlines Patrick Mischo, Senior Partner of A&O Luxembourg.
Two podcasts are already available. The first one, “Coronavirus: the rights and obligations of employers”, is presented by Maurice Macchi and Gabrielle Eynard, Senior Associates in the Labour Law department of A&O Luxembourg. The second podcast focuses on "ATAD 2: what impact on the fund industry?" and is presented by Patrick Mischo, Senior Partner and Johanna Tschurtschenthaler, Senior Associate in the tax department.
