1st Annual General Counsel Forum in Luxembourg - 8 October

On the evening of 8 October 2019, Allen & Overy hosted the first “LegalTech” edition of the General Counsel Forum, the first of its kind in Luxembourg. In-house lawyers, Chief Compliance Officers, and members from regulatory change management teams gathered to discuss latest developments in legal technologies and Allen & Overy’s approach towards LegalTech solutions. The Forum, which will become an annual event, is a precursor for an exclusive General Counsel Club for in-house counsel in Luxembourg to discuss the latest in law and technology with their peers.

During the Forum, A&O’s lawyers provided their unique insight into working with LegalTech products and Fuse (Allen & Overy’s ground-breaking innovation and collaboration space). The cohort members from Fuse, Nivaura, Scissero, Avvoka and Legatics discussed their LegalTech platforms and highlighted case studies of their collaborations with clients and lawyers across the globe to develop and implement innovative legal, financial, regulatory and deal-related technology solutions.

Commenting on the LegalTech offerings, Partner of Allen & Overy (Luxembourg), Peter Myners, said: “What’s happening in LegalTech is pretty exciting, and we are lucky to have Fuse and the A&O LegalTech team who are keeping us at the forefront of developments. Many of those developments are of obvious, real benefit to the Luxembourg market, and we look forward to seeing how this plays out in the coming months as we continue to engage with clients.

Audrey Scarpa, Counsel and Head of LegalTech team at Allen & Overy (Luxembourg), added: “At Allen & Overy, we have been automating documents for over two decades, so we understand the importance of working with products which reduce errors, increase efficiency and ensure consistency. There is no one size fits all LegalTech solution, each company will have to find the best solution and system that fits in their business.”
