Loyens & Loeff hires Max Welbes to boost leading Luxembourg investment funds practice

Law firm Loyens & Loeff today announces that Max Welbes has joined the firm’s Luxembourg investment funds practice as a partner.

Max has over fifteen years of experience in setting up UCITS compliant funds, including structured products. In addition, he also has extensive expertise in connection with the structuring of AIFs, as well as the applicable regulatory requirements for their managers. He has a strong focus on German-speaking jurisdictions. Max has started his career working at the Luxembourg offices of two UK magic circle firms. The past few years he headed the investment funds practice at the another independent Luxembourg firm.

Marc Meyers and Thibaut Partsch, partners in the Luxembourg investment funds practice, comment: “Our clients increasingly rely on a strong, responsive and pragmatic capability as the pace and complexity of transactions is evolving. Max will be a great addition to our team, as he will further reinforce our investment funds practice, in particular in the area of UCITS compliant funds. We look forward to working with him to, together with our entire team, take our funds practice to the next level in the coming years."

Max Welbes adds: “I am delighted to be joining the leading and well-respected Luxembourg fund practice of Loyens & Loeff. I am impressed by the fully integrated platform providing clients, within the same team, advice on the full range of fund products, ranging from the non-regulated alternative investment funds to UCITS. I look forward to working together with a great team on further expanding the practice.
