The new CCBE Presidency has taken office

Panagiotis Perakis (Greece) is leading the CCBE from 1 January 2023. 

Following his election at the CCBE Plenary Session on 25 November 2022, Panagiotis Perakis (Greece) is the new President of the CCBE. He has served as an independent legal expert of the European Commission for years, regarding the regulation and resolution of new legal issues arising from the rapidly evolving technologies. Since 2011, he has been an elected member of the Executive Board of the Athens Bar. In addition, he was the Chair of the CCBE Access to Justice Committee since February 2015, the Head of the Greek delegation in 2019, before joining the CCBE Presidency in 2020.  

Panagiotis Perakis started his career as a lawyer providing legal services in both advi-sory and judicial proceedings, after his studies in Greece and France. Over the years, he became an expert in Greek Corporate Law and continued practicing other areas of law gaining extensive experience in multiple kinds of cases, as well as dispute resolution procedures. 

His presidency will be supported by Pierre-Dominique Schupp (Switzerland) as 1st Vice President, Thierry Wickers (France) as 2nd Vice-President, and Roman Završek (Slovenia) as 3rd Vice-President.
