COVID-19 - Virtual shareholder and board meetings allowed until 31 December 2020

Virtual shareholder and board meetings allowed until 31 December 2020

At the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the Luxembourg government took measures to facilitate the holding of board and shareholder meetings. The Grand Ducal Regulation of 20 March 2020, which was extended by the Act of 20 June 2020, authorised Luxembourg-based companies to organise virtual shareholder and board meetings even if the company's articles of association do not provide for this possibility. This option was set to expire on 30 September 2020 but has now been extended, by Bill No 7673, until 31 December 2020. The bill will enter into force on 1 October 2020, thereby repealing the Act of 20 June 2020.
