New Partner at Elvinger Hoss Prussen

The partners of Elvinger Hoss Prussen are pleased to announce that Luc Frieden, avocat à la Cour, will join Elvinger Hoss Prussen on October 1, 2016 as partner in the firm's corporate, banking and finance group.

Luc Frieden will focus on providing legal and strategic advice to companies and organisations with European and global interests. His areas of advice will include Luxembourg and European law issues, including the consequences of the Brexit referendum, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance as well as regulatory and compliance matters.

Prior to joining Elvinger Hoss Prussen, Luc served from 1998 to 2013 as cabinet minister in the Luxembourg Government, among others as Minister of Justice and Minister of Treasury and Finance. From 2014 to early 2016, he was Vice Chairman at Deutsche Bank Group in London and Chairman of the supervisory board of Deutsche Bank Luxembourg. In his new role, he will continue to act as Chairman of the board of directors of Banque Internationale à Luxembourg, as well as Chairman of the Luxembourg media group Saint Paul Luxembourg.

Luc Frieden graduated in law from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and holds an LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree from the University of Cambridge and another LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School. He first became a member of the Luxembourg bar in 1989.

Luc Frieden has published numerous articles on legal, political and European issues. He is the coauthor of the recent book 'Europa 5.0' (Campus Verlag 2016) on economic growth in Europe. In 2016, he is also visiting professor in European business law at the University of St Gallen, Switzerland.
