Tips for a successful job interview!

Tip 1. Be prepared!
You only have one chance to give a first good impression!
• Know the job description
• Be prepared to ask and answer questions
• Prepare a clear argumentation about your motivation to work for that particular law firm or that specific company, as well as for the position
• Research the company and the people you will meet: you can use the company's website and social media (e.g. LinkedIn)
• Know the context and projects of the company and its sector
• Bring a copy of your resume with you
• Adapt your dress code to the environment you're being interviewed in
• Don't forget to turn off your cell phone and don't check your watch during the interview!
Tip 2. Be on time!
• Look up how to get there
• Take a potential delay in account and leave early
Tip 3. Listen Listen LISTEN

• Write down important information: what is important for him/her
• Focus on what you can
• Use 2-3 questions you prepared upfront
• Don't pretend to know something when you don't
• Give examples to describe your skills, weaknesses and strengths
Tip 4, Stay positive

• Make sure to be friendly and respectful to the assistants and front desk receptionists
• Don't speak negatively about your current or previous employer
• Show enthusiasm and interest
Tip 5. Chameleon approach
• Adapt your approach to the client' style : formal - informal
• Language: strong vocabulary - basic
• Pay attention to your body language
• Maintain eye contact.
• Tone of voice: soft - loud
Tip 6. Smile Smile SMILE
The shortest distance between two people is a smile.
