CMS advises Blocktrade on its Securities Offering

Blocktrade is developing and operating an institutional-grade digital assets exchange that focuses on cutting-edge technologies, highest security standards, and excellent user experiences. CMS acts as their full-service legal partner in this respect.

Our Digital Assets team is notably advising on all legal topics related to the Luxembourg jurisdiction including the auditing and verification of the correct implementation of all required Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) requirements. Our team is also supporting Blocktrade in drafting the financial prospectus for the Securities Offering.

The organisation of a Securities Offering comprises many legal challenges and need for compliance with strict regulatory constraints in a young and rapidly evolving legal landscape. CMS is pleased to support Blocktrade to ensure that they can quickly and effectively comply with all requests by regulatory authorities and guarantee the successful performance of their Securities Offering.

Back in September, both Blocktrade and CMS participated in a virtual round table on tokenisation organised by the Austrian Venture Capital and Private Equity Organisation (AVCO) and powered by CMS. Together, CMS and Blocktrade both share the vision of bringing tokenised assets to market, allowing anyone to participate in the purchase of digital securities thereby enabling greater financial inclusion.

The CMS team is led in Luxembourg by Aurélien Hollard, partner and Head of Investment Funds, and includes Aurélia Viémont (Head of Regulatory), José Ocana, Sarah Hantscher and in Austria by Klaus Pateter.
