Norton Rose Fulbright announces new partner in Luxembourg

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright announced that 36 of its lawyers received promotions to partner in locations around the world and director in South Africa, effective January 1, 2023.

In Luxembourg, the firm has promoted Geoffroy Hermanns to the partnership.

Geoffroy is an international asset management and investment funds lawyer with over 15 years’ experience across Europe and the Middle East. 

Geoffroy advises both from a GP and an LP perspective some of the world's leading financial institutions, private equity houses, sovereign wealth funds, Development Finance Institutions (DFI) and asset management firms on the structuring and formation of a wide range of Shari’ah-compliant and conventional investment funds, closed-ended (private funds) and open-ended (including public UCITS-type funds and hedge funds). His experience spans across a variety of sectors with a particular focus on private equity and VC, renewables, ESG, real estate, fixed income and equities and digital assets (crypto, blockchain, DeFi, tokens) and FinTech.  

As a specialist practitioner, he has practical experience and in-depth knowledge in a variety of fund jurisdictions, including Luxembourg, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and the major offshore jurisdictions (such as Mauritius, Cayman Islands, Jersey). He also regularly advises on carried interest arrangements and on funds related disputes and restructurings. 

Norton Rose Fulbright’s Luxembourg office recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. The Luxembourg team is particularly strong in investment funds, real estate, banking and finance, mainstream corporate, M&A, litigation and disputes, employment and labour and commercial and cross-border tax planning. Its lawyers also work closely with its EU investigations and risk advisory teams.
