Capital Markets and Banking
Eliane Dejardin Botelho has been elected Partner in the Capital Markets and Banking practice. Eliane is recognised for her established expertise in both regulatory matters and specialist knowledge of derivatives and securities financing structures. Having joined Linklaters in 2004, Eliane has worked with many major banks as well as central securities depositories and central clearing houses. She is a regular advisor to international banking groups and insurance businesses and is a key contributor to the development of Linklaters Luxembourg’s insurance practice. As the driving force behind the launch of the Linklaters Learning Hub, a training and networking programme designed for junior lawyers and young professionals, Eliane is a keen advocate of continued professional development.
Investment Funds
Claire Prospert, who joined Linklaters Luxembourg in 2009, has been elected Partner in the Investment Funds practice. With a broad expertise in all types of investment fund matters, she advises some of the largest international asset managers on the structuring of complex regulated and unregulated funds in all private market classes, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure, debt and hedge funds. Claire further covers fund regulatory matters, including advice on the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosures Regulation. Claire is also an active member of several working groups of the Luxembourg fund industry association (ALFI).
Counsels
Corporate M&A
Maxime Bertomeu-Savalle has been promoted to Counsel in the Corporate M&A practice. He joined the firm in 2010 and advises clients on a wide range of corporate matters with a particular expertise in private M&A, joint ventures and group restructuring. He has extensive experience in advising financial sponsors on all Luxembourg corporate aspects, including initial investment, structuring, exit and portfolio assistance. He regularly supports clients on complex cross-border restructuring and insolvency matters. He has developed an expertise around the set-up of SPACs, their listing and business combination with targets of different industries. Maxime was seconded to the financial sponsors group of the London office in 2014.
Tax
Danièle Buchler joined the Linklaters Luxembourg Tax practice in 2009. She regularly assists corporate clients on the Luxembourg tax aspects of cross-border reorganisations and helps asset managers in the set-up and tax structuring of joint venture companies and fund vehicles. Aside from her focus on funds and financial investors, Danièle also advises on the various tax angles of local real estate transactions by way of both share deals and asset deals.
Managing Associates
Tax
Cyrielle Nis joined the Tax practice of Linklaters Luxembourg in 2016. She previously gained professional experience in the tax department of a top name international company and a law firm. Cyrielle focuses on tax law and is advising on cross-border acquisitions as well as restructuring transactions.
Adrien Piron began his career in the tax department of one of Luxembourg’s ‘Big Four’. From there he joined Linklaters Luxembourg’s Tax practice in 2018. Adrien is involved in corporate groups advisory with respect to restructuring transactions and international investment funds tax structuring via Luxembourg regulated and non-regulated vehicles, with a specific focus on infrastructure, real estate and debt funds.
Corporate M&A
Ida Jacotey joined Linklaters’ Luxembourg Corporate M&A practice in 2016 as a Junior Associate. Prior to that, she had gained professional experience in law firms in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Her practice focuses on general company law, with particular emphasis on private equity, group restructuring and domestic and cross border M&A.
Irene Sanna joined Linklaters’ Corporate M&A practice in 2017. Irene’s expertise includes general company law, legal advice to private equity firms, restructurings and co-investment vehicles. Her experience includes advising a large investment company on the acquisition of residential real estate in Munich and setting up the appropriate Luxembourg acquisition structure.
Eugenie Syx joined the Corporate M&A practice group of Linklaters Luxembourg as a Knowledge Lawyer in 2016 and became Junior Associate in 2017. Her previous experience includes working as a teaching assistant and researcher at the Belgian University KU Leuven. Eugenie’s expertise includes general company law, listed companies and equity capital markets (including SPACs), restructuring, M&A deals, including in the real estate sector and giving of legal advice to private equity firms.
