Ingenia Polymers International S.A. (the Company) is a global holding company that owns several manufacturing, trading and technology subsidiaries in North America, Europe, Middle East and India with medium term plans to expand current activities. 

The General Counsel position will exercise management responsibility over the global legal affairs of the Ingenia Group, providing counsel to the senior management team and the Board of Directors. General Counsel will engage in all jurisdictions where the company currently operates and where it intends to operate.  The General Counsel position reports to the Chief Executive Officer of the Company and is based in Luxembourg.  Frequent travel to other group sites will be required

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Serve as Group’s General Counsel;
  • Ability to provide expert legal advice and counsel in connection with general business matters to the Group’s senior management;
  • Together with senior management, review, document and negotiate the terms and conditions of proposed contracts with third parties;
  • Retain and oversee outside counsel to obtain specialized legal advice as required;
  • Manage all litigation matters, including matter discussions and trials; conduct investigations; review, evaluate and resolve litigation while minimizing financial exposure and maximizing recovery;
  • Manage Corporate Governance in the organization;
  • Own the company Risk Register and review with the organization on a regular basis;
  • Maintain and communicate up to date knowledge of the law of interest to the Group and ensure that Group – wide policies and procedures are documented;
  • Work with the senior management to assure compliance with regulatory requirements applicable to the conduct of the Group’s business and protect against legal risks;
  • Manage Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks;
  • Support the Group in any acquisition efforts

  • More than 5 years experience in a law firm and 3 in-house
  • Common Law Degree
  • Excellent knowledge of corporate law and procedures
  • Excellent Contract Writing and Negotiating Skills
  • Excellent written communication and drafting skills are required; as well as the ability to demonstrate initiative and pro-activity;
  • Fluent oral and written English, other languages a plus
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with manufacturing companies
